John was an amazing driving instructor really different to my previous one. He made sure that every aspect of my driving was of a high standard and was so supportive if i was ever struggling with my driving. He listened to what i required not just teaching driving but made it personalised to what i needed. For example i had struggles judging the gap at roundabouts so he spent several sessions improving my confidence as well as taking me to a large variety of roundabouts. We also chose to move my test back and he provided loads of support including extra lessons and a really helpful double lesson a couple days before my test. I would really recommend john as an instructor because of his kind nature and his ability to produce great driving results

John was a great instructor and really improved my all-round Driving. He definitely helped me with making my Driving more smooth and continuous, and at the approaching junctions. As I had more lessons with him, I became more confident and by the end I felt like I was a very independent driver.

I had come to john after driving for a year having 2 previous instructors. As a result my driving had some flaws and I was struggling a lot with my confidence and was very doubtful of myself. John was able to find the cause of my confidence issues and we were able to work through them and rework my knowledge, making me a more competent driver that was able to pass first time. John was brilliant at being flexible with my university timetable and was always able to accommodate times I was available.

John is the best instructor out of the three instructors I tried. I was a very anxious and nervous driver. John was perfect for me as he is extremely calm, patient and very professional. Other reasons why I would recommend John to anyone are: (1) always came prepared with a lesson plan to maximise the time and help with progress (2) regularly updated the sheet with all of the driving skills a pupil should develop (3) explained things clearly using real-life reference points (4) the lessons were challenging which helped me develop my skills faster (5) great value for money (6) helped me with my confidence. I truly believe John cares about his students and wishes them to be great drivers for life, and not just for everyone to pass their test (although that too!). After lessons with John, the driving test felt like a breeze thanks to the high standard of John’s teaching. I passed with only two minors.

John also offered his own suggestions for gaps in my driving. John is a great driving instructor, I was with him from a beginner with no driving experience, he covered every topic well and made sure I was ready for my test in time. I passed first time with 4 minors, we did mock tests to find out my weak points and amended them for my real test, I would definitely recommend John as a driving instructor if you are planning on taking your driving lessons.

However John really took me back to basics and slowly but surely he built up my confidence to enable me to become a really confident driver. A really positive experience. John has helped me iron out several issues such as clearance, pulling up on the left and approach to roundabouts. At the end of every session we create a detailed breakdown of the lesson and then decide what to work on for the next session which is very helpful. Always able to find availability each week for my lessons.

John Was a great driving instructor for me, he really pushed me every lesson to the perfect amount where it wasn’t too difficult yet not too easy, he also really helped with putting in extra hours for me when getting closer to my test date, which was a squeeze, for example working hours over a bank holiday weekend, these extra hours allowed me to fix errors i was making and be able to pass first time with just 3 minors. I would definitely recommend john as your driving instructor!

Usually I don't write reviews, but I really wanted to write a review about John and his driving lessons. I am 43 years old and I am a fully qualified driver, but I don’t have much driving experience in the UK and especially in busy towns/cities. My work office moved, and I needed to start driving to get to the office. So, I found John’s details on the internet and messaged him. I explained the situation that I need quite urgently driving lessons. So, he got back to me straight away, and I got even two lessons on next week. I was quite nervous at the first few lessons, and I did have quite a few bad habits which John pointed out straight away and we started working on them: harsh breaking or I tend to use breaks often when I don’t need, instead of using a clutch. We worked on clearance and meeting a lot because I didn’t have much experience in this area. I’ve had 6 lessons so far and I can feel that John managed to bring my confidence back and I already managed to go to the office on my own. I decided to carry on with his lessons, because I can see that I am still learning many vital skills from John which can be very helpful in the future. Without any doubt I would highly recommend John for anyone who is looking for driving lessons as a beginner or who needs to build their confidence back in driving. John has an excellent teaching approach. He is amazingly calm, patient, very polite, and professional. John was a really great instructor. He was always calm and explained everything clearly. I have a specific learning difficulty (dyspraxia/dyslexia) that made learning to drive a bit harder than usual, but John was very patient and kind with teaching. His mock tests were also very helpful and fully prepared me for test day. I would genuinely recommend learning with John, if you want to be a confident driver once you’ve passed your test (as I am now)!

I admire John’s professionalism and his passion for driving, which he uses to teach his pupils. My experience with John Kerr and Drive and Pass: I've had a countless number of instructors in my time learning to drive, none have ever come close to the professionalism and expert level of knowledge held by John Kerr. Unlike a lot of instructors, John prides himself in making you the best driver you can be. You're not just trained to be at pass standard, instead, you are trained to tackle any situation the roads have for you. At the end of each lesson, there would be an in-depth debrief to discuss how you thought the lesson went and where you could improve. John consistently made sure that every minute of the lesson was used to effectively to most improve your driving and often went overtime to make sure you would leave the lesson feeling great. As well as taking it very seriously, John was a very friendly instructor and his humor made the lessons that much more enjoyable. John made sure I was always able to have a lesson when best suited me. The teaching style was great: there were clear lesson plans and an explanation of what each manoeuvre and exercise would require and the debrief at the end of the lesson allowed me to think about my mistakes and where I could improve for next time.
