Birmingham Kingstanding driving test centre reopening on 26 June 2023
DVSA wrote to instructors earlier this year about our plans to transform the Birmingham Kingstanding driving test centre, that will provide a better, more flexible service to you and your pupils.
From 26 June this new building will become home to all the Driving Examiners currently based at the nearby driving test centres in Sutton Coldfield, and the temporary test centre at Wyndley.
Keeping you informed: next steps
Sutton Coldfield driving test centre, As a result, from 6 January 2023 we will close the booking window for Sutton Coldfield for tests after 23 June 2023. This is because tests at this centre will be moving to the new building.
The additional, replacement tests will be made available to book at Birmingham Kingstanding from 16 January 2023 for dates from 26 June 2023.
If you or your pupil have a test already booked in Sutton Coldfield, please continue to attend as planned. We will always contact bookers directly if their test has been changed.
No tests will be lost and all additional test will be available to book from 16 January 2023.
Wyndley driving test centre
We are still working to confirm the closing date for the temporary test centre in Wyndley and will let you know as soon as we can. Test are still available to book at Wyndley.
