Lifetime Achievement Award
This year, the award goes to Lou Walsh. Louise was an absolute advocate for the driving instruction industry and sadly passed away in 2023.
Her friend and colleague, Chris Bensted wrote this about her:
In a year when we've all felt the profound loss of one of the most influential ADIs many of us have known, it's only fitting that the GoRoadie Lifetime Achievement Award be given to Lou Walsh.
Louise was many things: a leading force in PDI education, an advocate for challenging the DVSA, a respected trainer, as well as a wife, mother, and friend.
She had a unique way of giving her time and guidance, inspiring each person and making them feel like the most important person in the room.
Her crowning glory, the Big Learner Relay, not only united hundreds of individuals to raise hundreds of thousands for charity but also forever changed the face of the driver training industry. She will be remembered, missed, and respected for a long time.
We hope this award adds to the many accolades Louise has achieved and ensures that her work and passion continue, despite her departure far too soon.
To Lou, thank you for giving so much and making the world a better place.
