GoRoadie, an award-winning technology startup, is looking for an ambitious Software Engineer to develop features across our platforms and shape our technology direction.
In this role, you will utilise your mobile development experience, you will mentor and shape the technical future of our business.

The team is dedicated to using modern development practices to rapidly experiment, iterate and deliver end-to-end solutions to their customers in a matter of hours and days. You must be passionate about product and delivering results for customers.
You should have a solid understanding of mobile development practices, either native, React Native or NativeScript. Additionally, understand Web APIs and building projects at scale.
You will work alongside the Chief Executive Officer and our Chief Product Officer to lead the technology side of the business growing, giving serious input to how we grow our technology organisation. You will lead feature development, take part in design discussions and present your ideas long term changes. You will also be involved in some pair programming, mentoring and help us scale our engineering team.
What you will do ποΈββοΈ
- Take responsibility for building, shipping, and maintaining core GoRoadie Pro and GoRoadie.com features end to end, for maximum customer and business impact
- Work at all levels of the technology stack. We work with NativeScript/Angular, AWS, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, SQL and Node.JS. Time will be upskill in these specific technologies, experience is a bonus.
- Work with the core team to build features in hours and day, to a high level of quality that ultimately improves the lives of our customers.
- You will be responsible for learning and demonstrating mobile and web application best practices and ensuring high standards in performance, stability and architecture.
- As part of a startup, you will wear multiple hats and be involved in more than software engineering. You will receive ownership of tasks and features from idea generation, business requirements and technical design, through to software development using the latest technologies and design patterns.

- An entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a startup environment is critical. Think about how we can deliver value to our customers in the most lean and efficient way possible.
- The ability to prioritise and manage your workload, you know when to change focus to prioritise business critical bugs verus on-going feature development.
- To be a software engineering generalist with at least three years of industry experience who is willing to learn new technologies and apply them in a fast changing environment.
- You have experience in developing mobile apps and web apps, and understand the full agile/lean development life-cycle.
- To be a person that is keen to continue learning and to keep growing. You will accept critique and will seek out challenges as a way to grow. In doing so, you will have the full support of the founders of the business.
