How many lessons do I need to pass my test in Bradford?

Sorry to say - but there is no right answer here! 🙈 Every learner is different. Roads are busier than ever, so it's important to take the time to become a safe and skilled driver.

On average, it takes around 47 hours of driving lessons with a profession instructor to get a learner to test standard. It can be a tough pill to swallow when the lessons in Bradford are around £26 on average. That means you might spend £1,222 on lessons, but what's more important is to pass your test. This also means you have to pay for your practical test and theory test too.

There are a number of things you can do to help you pass your test first time:

  • Get a great driving instructor. This may go without saying, but make sure to pick a well reviewed instructor that you think would suit your personality. You're going to get on a lot better when you respect your instructors skill but can also get along with them.
  • Take lessons as close together as you can. We don't mean taking 6 hours of lessons per day (although some instructors do offer intensive driving courses), as that's not practical for most, instead we mean taking at least 1 lessons per week, but ideally 2 or 3. Take a lesson, reflect, take a lesson and continually build your understanding and skill.
  • Get out with your family or friends. The DVSA recommend learners do 22 hours of private practice on top of professional lessons.
  • Consider doing a mock test with a different driving instructor. The instructor you choose will likely know someone they would choose to give you a mock driving test. Don't worry, your instructor will be in the back seat the whole time.
