For this award we looked long and hard at the cars used by instructors across the entire industry. What is popular now and what were most instructors using throughout the year, and in 2020 there were little surprises. The winner being the Ford Fiesta.
A new interior in the latest models has helped the Ford Fiesta catch up with rivals when it comes to quality, with plenty of storage areas throughout the cabin. Instructors keep using this car for a reason and it's a great option for first time buyers too.
The 99bhp 1.0 EcoBoost engine is clearly more economical which is something Gen-Z care about more and more.
Vauxhall Corsa is our solid runner up. For learner drivers, this a great car to get started in. Now Corsa's come with a bigger touchscreen and a digital instrument display on top-spec models. With it's fancy LED lights, it definitely comes across as modern - no wonder instructors are choosing this car year after year.
